NOTICE FOR THE RALEIGH UNION STATION BUS PROJECT IN DOWNTOWN RALEIGH
The Research Triangle Regional Public Transportation Authority (dba GoTriangle), as a grant recipient of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), is proposing to construct the Raleigh Union Station Phase II – known as the RUS Bus project. The new transit facility would be located next to Raleigh Union Station.
The FTA is seeking public comment on the undertaking, in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, specified in 36 CFR 800. The FTA determined that there are two (2) National Register of Historic Places-listed and one (1) eligible resources within the project’s Area of Potential Effects (APE). The FTA, in consultation with the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office, will determine whether the project would have an adverse effect to any listed or eligible historic properties in the APE. Public comments will be considered through September 30, 2020 as part of the FTA’s determination of effects.
